What makes our honey special

Small "Backyard" Type Beeyards - Our beeyards house ONLY 20 beehives. This means less stress for bees to compete for resources and better animal husbandry.
Beehives are stationary - We do NOT participate in migratory pollination which is decremental to the bees population.
Monoculture and Pesticide Free Environment - We keep our bees in natural, non pesticide and mass monoculture agriculture free areas. We are partnering with local landowners who are hosting our beehives.
Well-maintained beehive yards - Bees come first. We take good care of our bees.
No synthetic combs - Our bees store YOUR honey in natural beeswax combs created by the young bees.
Beehive Woodware - We use natural (non pressure threaded) wood for our beehives. We paint only the outside of our hives (inside is a bare natural wood) so our bees and honey are not affected in anyway.
Honey Moisture Content - We do not care about schedules. We do not harvest our honey prematurely. We let our bees decide when the honey is ripe and it’s time to harvest. Who else knows better when honey is ready than bees!

Why do we label our honey as “Ultra-Premium”?

Our goal is to provide our customers with a “backyard” honey experience. Our Ultra-Premium honey is not processed, heat treated, pesticide laced, or altered at all. Our beekeeping and honey harvesting practices provide a thriving environment for our bees. We take pride in our simple and minimalistic way of processing honey right after the harvest. We do not filter our Ultra-Premium Honey, we only gravity strain it through 400-micron strainers. We found that this size strainer is perfect to remove beeswax particles, but its still able to leave all the small pollen granules that make our honey a healthy treat for you and your family!

So What is Bee Pollen?

Bee pollen is one of nature's Superfoods. It is simply flower pollen with a little bit of “magic” added by the bee. The actual gathering of pollen is a lot more complex than it would seem to most of us. When the honeybee spots a flower, she settles on the stamen (the pollen producing part) and skillfully scrapes off the powdery loose pollen with her jaws and front legs.

Next, she moistens the pollen with a dab of the honey she brought from the hive. Her tibia contains thick, trimming bristles called “combs,” which she uses to brush the gold powder from her body mid-flight into tiny baskets found on the outside of her legs.

When her basket is full, the microscopic golden dust has been pressed down into a single golden granule. Back at the hive, enzymes and nectar are added to the flower pollen to make bee pollen.

It is often referred to as “the bread of bees." It is actually pollen that bees use for nourishment, not honey.

How big are the bees yards?

Each yard contains ONLY 20 beehives. Compared to a big commercial producer that keeps 1000 of hives on the same location, you can see why we call our honey, “backyard” honey. Our bees live in much better environment because of this and are much more efficient in pollinating and collecting the nectar.
